ISEB practitioner certification in software testing course

Training course overview

The Practitioner Certificate in Software Testing is the second level ISEB standard qualification for software testing. It provides visible evidence that an individual has a depth of knowledge of testing topics and the ability to perform testing activities in practice The course syllabus covers the fundamental elements of software testing.

The Software testing ISEB practitioner certification course provides candidates with skills and techniques that are applicable to a wide range of testing challenges that the test practitioner might face. The general approach taught will provide a basis for the formal testing of software systems in general.

Training objectives

The objective of the course is to prepare delegates for the certification exam for the ISEB practitioner certificate in software testing. This means that by the end of the training course delegates should be able to:
  • Develop further the software testing principles, processes, techniques and testing tools introduced at the ISEB foundation certificate in software testing level
  • Provide greater focus on the test management capabilities a tester will need in order to progress to test team leading and test management roles
  • Use the case study and the trainers experience so that the practitioner certificate in software testing material can be related to a company's situation and needs

Who should attend

ISEB defines a testing practitioner as anyone involved in software testing. This includes testers, test analysts, test engineers, test consultants, test managers, user acceptance testers, and software developers. The Practitioner Certificate training course is intended to lead to a qualification appropriate to all testing practitioners.

Delegates for the ISEB Practitioner Certificate in Software Testing must hold the ISEB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing and ideally have at least 18 months experience in software testing.
