Testing whether the system will work within all its localisation requirements (including possible use of locales to express different localised approaches for displaying text, dates and numbers).
Comment
Internationalisation and localisation testing are two sides of the same coin. Both are not easy and is time consuming. They should be planned at the start of the test campaign and tested in several phases including:
-
When the localisation support environment is ready
-
When the new locale is implemented.

On many programmes and large projects, testing will take up a significant portion of the budget. But it will receive less management attention than an activity of this size warrants.
