The testing of the full business process, from the start of a transaction (which might be a telephone call) through to the completion (which might be the receipt of payment for an invoice after goods have been shipped).Comment
Testing the full business process ensures that the system is really going to work. There are many examples of excellent software systems being implemented, where the supporting processes don’t work and undermine the effectiveness of the software (for example, e-commerce sites work perfectly, but the delivery companies don’t deliver when expected and ruin the customer experience).Where the implementation of the system requires a lot of interaction between the business and the system(s) then a dress rehearsal is highly recommended.
